metal, electronics, plastic // 30cm x 30cm x 30cm

loop an apparatus that breaks the light and creates a projection in space. Almost all glass objects are handmade, some of them by me. The processed materials are very important because they are essential for the magical radiance of the Apperates. I wanted to create something magical.

observation #1

2013

metal, fabric, electronics // 40cm x 40cm x 30cm

This work is the result of an observation of a spider living in a lampshade for a few of weeks. The spider has been running around, again and again, in a circle inside the lampshade. One could see its shadow when it passed a certain spot. Whenever one approached the lampshade up to a few centimetres, the spider suddenly stopped and remained motionless until it felt safe again. After a few weeks had passed, the animal disappeared and left a dense chaotic tangle of spinning threads inside the lampshade. This work is a technical translation of this observation.
